The world market for mobile phones continues to solid double-digit growth in the second quarter (2Q08), as competition in the high-end devices heats. According to IDC on the World Wide Mobile Phone Tracker, vendors shipped a total of 306.0 million units, an increase of 5.6% from 289.7 million units set in the previous quarter and above 15.3% from 265.4 millionu units shipped during 2Q07.
