The MC34845 LED driver with high-speed pulse width modulation (PWM) capability has six-channel device that designed to allow LED backlights to operate at frequencies above the audible range, thereby eliminating noise issues and reducing visual artifacts. The MC34845 LED driver is ideal for backlighting applications in notebook displays ranging in size from seven inches to more than 17 inches, as well as other applications that use multiple low-power LEDs, such as lighting products. The MC34845 also features a boost converter to produce the required voltage to power LEDs. Two versions are available for boost switching frequencies of either 600 Khz (MC34845) or 1.2 MHz (MC34845A)...

The VersaClock III devices are programmable clock generators specifically designed for use in high-performance consumer, telecommunications, networking and data communications applications and are more versatile alternatives to using multiple crystals and oscillators. The VersaClock III family features four internal PLLs, each individually programmable and able to generate four unique frequencies. The new timing devices also feature an I2C interface, providing programmability during normal operation. The internal EEPROM allows the user to save and restore configuration of the device without having to reprogram it on power up, saving valuable design time and maximizing ROI. The VersaClock III devices feature lower jitter and clock redundancy, with a glitchless automatic or manual switchover function that allows the use of a secondary clock source to be selected if a clock error occurs during normal operation of the primary source, helping improve timing and device performance...

Micron’s new 16- and 32-gigabit (Gb) NAND chips pair large capacity with performance, providing a compelling solution for today’s demanding portable storage requirements that are tailored to end-customer product dimensions. The newly architected 32Gb multi-level cell (MLC) NAND chip is 17 percent smaller than Micron’s first-generation 32Gb chip. The 16Gb MLC NAND chip, at just 84mm2, provides high-capacity in an ultra tiny package. Micron is also now sampling 8- and 16Gb single-level cell (SLC) NAND chips using the 34nm process. Additionally, Lexar Media, Inc. – a subsidiary of Micron and a leading provider of consumer memory products for digital devices – is taking advantage of Micron’s new 34nm NAND products by delivering a wide range of flash memory cards and USB flash drives utilizing this technology...
