Analog Devices Introduces ADP2121 500mA Buck Regulator

The ADP2121 is the industry’s smallest 500-mA buck regulator, the first of a family of high-frequency 6-MHz dc-to-dc regulators. The ADP2121 is available in a 1.3-mm × 0.9-mm wafer level chip scale package (WLCSP) with a razor-thin height of 0.6 mm. The ADP2121 requires only two small capacitors and one small inductor, resulting in a 35-percent reduction in PCB area compared with current 3-MHz buck regulator solutions. The ADP2121 delivers exceptional efficiency and performance, providing system designers with a cost-effective, ultra-small power management solution for portable applications where board space and battery life are critical.
