austriamicrosystems’ AS3992 UHF RFID reader IC is featured in Thinkify’s new Gen 2 TR-200 RFID reader/programmer. The TR-200 is easy-to-use and is designed specifically for office applications. It offers small size and a powerful software interface for simple and flexible operation, and can be powered by either a USB connection or an external supply.

The AS3992 UHF Gen 2 Reader chip is an integrated analog frontend and provides protocol handling for ISO18000-6b/c 900MHz RFID reader systems. Equipped with multiple built-in programming options, the device is suitable for a wide range of UHF RFID applications.

The TR-200 brings the full benefits of modern RFID to the individual with a simple and intuitive interface. Reading, programming, locking, and any standard or custom tag manipulation can be easily accomplished by RFID novices. With class leading sensitivity, yet less power consumption than conventional readers, the TR-200 is ideal for RFID applications at the desk top level. Individuals with no previous RFID experience can be running applications in five minutes with no expensive software license, awkward coax, power supplies, or mounting hardware.
