IDT Announces New Family of Power Smart Audio Codecs for Mobile Devices

The new audio codecs (92HD89X) are available in 4-channel, 6-channel, 8-channel and 10-channel versions. All of the devices meet Energy Star standards in the United States and Eco-Design Requirements for Energy Using Products (EuP) in Europe. The new IDT audio codecs are also available with content protection in a 10-channel version. Content protection improves signal quality and integrity by allowing the audio player to send full-rate lossless audio from Blu-ray or other protected audio content instead of audio that is down sampled due to content protection limitations. To help improve time to market and software quality, the new IDT audio codecs also feature the IDT Smart Configuration Suite, a downloadable universal driver package for easy pin and feature configuration. This automated Web-based configuration tool can be used as the main driver across the board regardless of platform. This allows for configuration changes without needing a new driver. The new codecs provide “HD sound” and feature a simplified, easier-to-use, more robust graphical user interface (GUI).
