Lanner Electronics Announces FW-8750 Network Appliance Platform and Support Four-Core Intel Core 2 Quad CPUs

The FW-8750 uses the Intel Q35 Express chipset and LGA 775 socket to support Core 2 Quad CPUs up to 3.16 GHz, providing faster, cooler and lower power operation for CPU-intensive network applications. The FW-8750 achieves significant performance gains by utilizing quad-core processors, while the efficient design and extensive customization features of the Q35 Express chipset lets Lanner partners build superior network computing platforms with plenty of room for future expansion. the FW-8750 supports a base of six RJ45 GbE ports, and includes an optional expansion module for an additional four RJ45 GbE ports or four SFP fiber ports. The FW-8750 also comes equipped with two pairs of bypass-enabled ports for high availability, and can be customized with a range of Cavium and Lionic deep packet inspection (DPI) acceleration cards for increased performance in network security applications…
