Maxim Introduces MAX14521E, a +/- 15kV ESD-Protected, Quad-Output Driver for Multiple Electroluminescent (EL) Lamps

The MAX14521E driver utilizes an inductor-based boost converter to generate a high 300VP-P (max) voltage for maximum EL lamp brightness. The MAX14521E features an I2C interface for adjusting many different settings including output voltage, frequency, boost frequency, and waveform shape. The MAX14521E is ideal for cell phones, MP3 players, PDAs, and other applications that require bright, efficient, even backlighting. The MAX14521E provides multiple customization options that enable designers to optimize the performance of this driver for specific EL lamps.
