The SAA7231 is a low-cost hybrid (simultaneous analog and digital reception) multimedia receiver and capture IC for general purpose, Multimedia and Media Center Edition (MCE) PCs. The SAA7231 is the key-component to receive analog and digital TV content from different sources like cable, satellite and terrestrial programs. The SAA7231 demodulates and decodes Intermediate Frequency (IF) signals from one or more tuners and streams the processed audio, video and VBI data to the PC memory. The integrated DVB-T and DVB-S channel decoders enable reception of the most common digital TV standards.
