The new Samsung LED Flat Panel TV product uses a unique Portable Media Player (PMP) as the TV remote control. This PMP remote control has the option to function as a touch screen TV remote control for channel changes, volume control, and other common remote control features, in addition to allowing the television to wirelessly stream video content via any of its digital or analog sources directly to the PMP remote control for instant display. The ViXS XCode® 3290 will transcode incoming digital video content from MPEG2 HD to a more optimized video codec for the best PMP viewing quality possible, a MPEG4 ASP format. In addition, the ViXS XCode® 3290 will encode any incoming analog content to this same high quality digital MPEG4 ASP format allowing for an incredible viewing experience on the PMP remote control display. Once the video content has been transcoded or encoded in real-time, XCode® 3290 will secure the video using a Hollywood approved digital rights protection scheme, in this case HDCP 2.0 encryption, before being wirelessly delivered and displayed on the PMP remote control display. The flexibility of the XCode® 3290 and PMP remote control display allows users to watch a secondary channel while others watch the main television or allows the main television content to be viewed in other locations in the home providing a true multi-view experience…
