IDT Announces New Serial RapidIO Gen2 System Modeling Tool to Optimize Data or Traffic
The new IDT Serial RapidIO Gen2 system modeling tool enables system designers to optimize the data — or traffic — that flows through the Serial RapidIO interconnect in a virtual environment before spending critical R&D dollars on physical prototypes. Using Serial RapidIO Gen2 in a design increases the raw bandwidth available in a system and also helps manage congestion while avoiding long-term traffic bottlenecks. The IDT Serial RapidIO Gen2 system modeling tool supports the IDT Gen1 switches as well as the forthcoming IDT Gen2 switches, allowing current RapidIO customers to investigate how their existing designs can evolve with the new Serial RapidIO Gen2 switches. The system modeling tool also features an update of the IDT graphical user interface (GUI), which allows designers and architects to easily visualize traffic patterns in their system. The IDT GUI allows faster and more accurate architectural decision making, helping improve the design of the system and speeding the de-bugging process…
