STMicroelectronics announced the Freeman Premier family of TV System on Chip devices has been certified for Security Application by Irdeto, a global software security and media technology company.

This certification means a TV using the Freeman product has the level of security required to access premium content protected by the Irdeto Conditional Access System (CAS) without the need for an external device or conditional access module. Irdeto CAS support is part of the security capabilities of Freeman product family that also offers robust and hardened implementation of mainstream DRMs and CI+ features.

Freeman Premier is part of the Freeman product family, a proven range of TV SoCs, offering scalable performance, software compatibility, and access to connected services. Freeman Premier is a single-chip for 120 Hz TVs, incorporating Motion-Corrected Temporal Interpolation (MCTi) Faroudja technology, delivering an outstanding 3DTV experience.

The certified Freeman ICs include FLI7510, FLI7512, FLI7515 and FLI7525, available in volume now, and ready to deploy worldwide with content providers using Irdeto Conditional Access.
