The SuperSpeed USB xHCI Host Controller supports the current Extensible Host Controller Interface (xHCI) draft specification, which offers a standardized method for communication between USB 3.0 host controllers and the USB 3.0 software stack. The DesignWare SuperSpeed USB xHCI Host Controller, operating at 5 Gbps, is targeted at high performance netbooks, set-top boxes, digital video recorders, digital TVs, and mobile internet devices that want to take advantage of SuperSpeed USB’s 10x increase in throughput.
