The AT73C209 integrates power management and high-quality audio circuitry on a single chip. The AT73C209 is one of the few ICs on the market that integrates 3-channel power supplies and a high-quality audio interface for music players. The AT73C209 can minimize the BOM by reducing the component count to only 3 ICs: (MCU + Memory + AT73C209)…
Atmel® Corporation (Nasdaq: ATML), announced the release of its AT73C209 Analog Companion power supply and audio interface IC designed for low-cost music players. The AT73C209 supplies the required voltages and currents to all the sections of these portable devices taking energy from a single alkaline battery, and also provides a high-quality audio interface.
The AT73C209 integrates power management and high-quality audio circuitry on a single chip. It has 2 linear regulators (LDO) and one very low input voltage and high-efficiency Step Up switching regulator (DC-DC) working down to 0.9V, thus particularly suited for 1 cell Alkaline/NiMh batteries. On the audio side, the AT73C209 offers an audio-quality 16-bit Stereo Audio DAC with headset driver and microphone preamplifier to interface with the recording stage of a MCU.
The AT91SAM7L series, embedding power switches controlling multiple power islands and programmable voltage regulators to reduce power consumption in active and standby modes. The AT91SAM7L series features innovative power reduction techniques for both active and standby modes…
Atmel® Corporation (Nasdaq: ATML) announced a new series of high-performance, ultra-low power ARM7TDMI®-based microcontrollers, the AT91SAM7L series, embedding power switches controlling multiple power islands and programmable voltage regulators to reduce power consumption in active and standby modes. There is a rapidly growing demand for more power efficient products that is driven by a market trend towards environmentally friendly, battery operated and portable products like media players, remote controls, weather stations, calculators, toys, control panels, thermostats and hand-held medical devices such as glucose meters, blood pressure meters and fitness monitors. The demand for green products is pushing manufacturers to consider low-power standby modes even on products supplied by the power grid. The individual standby power of audio or TV equipment is small at around 1 or 2 W per unit, but the fact that billions of these are maintained in standby mode, results in a total power consumption of thousands of megawatts.
The PIC16F72X MCUs have an operating voltage range of 1.8 – 5.5V, with the low-power PIC16LF72X devices offering lower standby and other power-consumption specifications from 1.8 – 3.6V. The new MCUs have integrated in-circuit debug and are supported by the MPLAB® IDE Integrated Development Environment…
Microchip Technology Inc., a leading provider of microcontroller and analog semiconductors, announced a new family of low-cost 8-bit Flash PIC® microcontrollers (MCUs). The 28- and 40-pin PIC16F722/3/4/6/7 (PIC16F72X) MCUs are capable of operation down to 1.8V and feature a 16 MHz internal oscillator; up to 14 Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) channels; communication (SPI, I2C(tm), AUSART) and two Capture, Compare and PWM (CCP) modules; plus the mTouch(tm) Sensing Solution peripheral. The highly integrated devices are well-suited for a wide range of general-purpose applications in the appliance (blenders, refrigerators, dishwashers); consumer/home electronic (toys, cell phones, phone chargers, electric shavers, vacuum cleaners); industrial (digital water heaters, security systems, HVAC control); automotive (car audio, remote controls, power seats, lighting control) and other markets.
